3-Way Calling is Key to Network Marketing Success

Do you have a prospect that wants to join your business or wants to know more about what you do? Then I suggest the best way to engage with your prospect is to implement a 3-way call.

3-way calls can create that personal connection and give you the sponsor credibility. Engaging with a team member or your own up-line helps build a landscape of possibilities to your prospective recruit. They will get a preview of your business and will have the opportunity to see the success that you have created for yourself as well as the success of your up-line expert.
Your prospective recruit also learns how you engage others into the business and knows you will help in this same style of recruitment when it comes time for you to be the up-line expert on a 3 way call.
Getting Started
Starting a 3-way call is easy; just introduce your up-line expert to your potential recruit and your potential recruit to your expert. Make sure you point out their current level of success in the company and how long they have been in the industry. Make sure you point out only the relevant pieces of information that make your expert the best source. You want to create value to your up-line expert and give value to your potential recruit. Explain why you are both on this call but don’t overdo it with needless information. Keep it simple and to the point.
Remember that your up-line expert is responsible for recognizing you as a leader, and a business partner, someone who works hard and is a great source of information and support. If your potential recruit is a friend, they may not know specific details about you in the business world, now they might feel more empowered to know you better. If they don’t know you your up-line expert has now given them a good reason to have met with you.
You have now gained new respect and are empowered to share your success.
Be genuine and honest. These are two simple traits that will set you apart from your competitors.
Let’s Make the Call
·         Before the call, email information about your prospect to up-line expert. Give a brief background of who they are, why they would be a good recruit and give a brief bio of the person if you know it.
·         Practice your 3 way call skills.
·         Make sure you call your prospective recruit before you call your up-line expert.
·         Make introductions and give key facts about them both.(know a little bit about both parties)
·         Let your up-line expert talk about the business and you can ask pointed questions to get the ball rolling. (Have you ever wanted to own your own business, what do you want to learn about first? The business opportunity or the product opportunity? What do you like about this particular direct sales company? Have you ever used our products before?
Your up-line expert will likely spend a few minutes building a personal rapport with your prospective recruit to find out where they live, what they do, what interests they have and what path has led them to you. Then they should share their story and journey into the business. Make sure at this point you share your story. It may be connected to your up-line expert.
Talk about your current team and all you do to assist each other build a successful business. Your team can be the best asset you have. Make sure you treat them with great reverence and show respect.
Make sure your calls last no longer than 20 minutes. If your potential recruit has questions make sure you listen and then tell them you would be happy to email them the materials so they have time to look over the details in their own time.
Create a strong foundation and then Duplicate-Duplicate-Duplicate
If you can duplicate something, you can achieve freedom. Successful network marketing is all about duplication.

The beauty of style in the workplace

How do you feel about beauty and style in the workplace?

What is your style?

As accomplished women emphasizing our intellectual abilities is always first on the list of priorities. We need to always be the true professional who is secure in our skills and abilities; this is how each of us got to where we are today, this will always be the key factor in where we go tomorrow and how we make our way in the career world. But let’s admit it how you dress matters. Yes, you heard me how you dress matters, how you wear your hair matters, the application of makeup or lack of it matters and how you present yourself matters.

After doing some research to get a feel for how other professionals feel about this topic. I came across a quote from David McKnight the founder of DAMstyle, an image consulting firm in New York. "Professional presentation is critical and we must be constantly aware of the unspoken messages and personal brand that we are communicating to our audience."

Mr. McKnight went on to say “the biggest fashion faux pas that professional women commit stems from not understanding how to dress for their body type. Imitating styles found in magazines or on celebrities is a risk. True professional style must be synchronized to your professional image goals and internal identity, rather than what you see on your favorite fashion blog. Once you define your image goals and embrace your unique identity, then it's time to curate a versatile wardrobe that is inclusive of items that communicate your desired messages to the world, appropriate for any situation or environment."
So how can women navigate the potential land mines of appearing attractive, polished and professional while still conveying a sense of competence and accomplishment?
Well we need create our own style that is professional, polished and stylish. We must keep our hair freshly cut and styled so we can can highlight our best professional features, our makeup needs to be kept to a minimum and looking fresh and above all else we must convey a sense of confidence. Don’t misunderstand my view on this. I just feel that we are women in the workplace and as such we need to be women looking professional not downplaying ourselves to fit into some mold others think we need to be in. That being said I never downplay myself what I do instead is dress in a style that is appropriate for each professional situation I’m about to enter. Frankly I bring my A game with me everywhere I go, that my friend is my best workplace style.
And remember the best accessory a woman can wear is her confidence.

Cheers,

Toni

How do I get the most from my Cosmetology and Skincare Education?

Enrolling in any Beauty School Program is the first step in pursuing a career as a Cosmetologist, Makeup Artist, Nail Technician or Esthetician. In order to make the most of your time spent in school, it is essential to work hard while there, learn as much as possible, listen to your teachers, ask a lot of questions and keep learning. Then practice what you've learned on friends, relatives, school clients, etc.

Here are a few tips from The Health & Style Institute to make it as easy and beneficial as possible.

Prioritize Your Time - When embarking on any pursuit of higher education, it’s essential to prioritize your time. Between your cosmetology courses and working in the salon, it can be difficult to devote time to a social life. While maintaining your mental health is important, carefully choose your evenings out.
For example, you should consider staying home for the evening if you have an important exam the following day.
If you begin to feel overwhelmed with your courses and workload, speak with your instructors. All of your instructors have successfully completed cosmetology school and will offer you their expert advice on succeeding in your courses.
Review Your Notes – Cosmetology students don’t always have to sit in a classroom like other students, but that doesn’t mean that studying can be neglected. You can make sure you keep up with your studies by reviewing notes on a regular basis. Whether you take handwritten notes, type notes, or have a photographic memory, you should take some time to review the lesson you learned in your last class before you arrive for your next session.
Spend Extra Time Studying Hard Topics – You may find yourself having more success with some cosmetology topics than with others. If so, it is important to spend more time studying or practicing those you find more difficult. Most students find strengths and weaknesses during their time in school. Take any available opportunity to spend more time studying and practicing the topics that you find hardest, and ask for additional guidance from your teachers and mentors.
Follow State Board or International Protocols When Practicing – Once you have advanced in your education to labs and student salon activities, follow state board protocols in all your actions, such as sanitizing hands, putting used tools in your soiled container, using a gloves when required and always following the directions of your instructor. Implementing those protocols during practice will further embed the behaviors in your memory so they become as natural as breathing. You’ll have more than enough to remember when you’re taking your state board exam, so anything that becomes automatic in your actions prior to then, will be one less thing to remember.
Study with Friends - While some topics can easily be reviewed at home on your own, there are other areas in which you can benefit from having a study partner or study group. You can ask a few of your fellow cosmetology students if they would like to start a study group. Meet up once or twice a week to discuss the various lessons learned that week. This will allow you to get another point of view on certain techniques and catch up on lessons you may have missed or have difficulty with.
Ask for Help - Teachers and administrators are there to help you; our Health and Style Institute staff wants you to succeed. Trying to power through the program on your own can leave you missing out on valuable knowledge. If there is something that you do not understand, ask for clarification. If at some point in your program you are experiencing transportation, child care, or other personal obstacles that may jeopardize your progress, communicate with the staff to work out a solution or to find out about student support services that may help you overcome your challenge.
Take Care of Your Equipment - During any cosmetology program, you will be provided with equipment that helps you learn the skills you need to succeed in the beauty industry. Once you receive your equipment and products, which may include professional products, curling irons, 4-in-one machines, lab coats, manicure kits and textbooks, it is important to take care of it. The better care you take of your equipment, the more useful it will be toward your education and your state board exams.
Stay Dedicated to your Learning - Throughout your education, it is important to continue to build onto your knowledge base. Practice your new skills. Look through hair, skin, nail and style magazines to stay on top of the latest trends and tips. Talk to your teachers about their careers, and ask for advice. There are an unlimited amount of resources available to you at your school; it is up to you to take advantage of them.
Practice your people skills - The key to success in the beauty industry is repeat customers that's where good interpersonal communication comes in. If you truly care about people and you love what you do, that will shine through. But if your people skills are lacking, it'll be tough to secure repeat business, no matter how good your technical skills. Your school can work with you to improve in these areas as well. Succeeding in a beauty career requires working well with others and understanding their needs and desires, from the common to the quirky.
Prepare for interviews and attend career development workshops - Unlike in other occupations, interviews for beauty and wellness jobs include a practical component. If you're a massage therapist, you'll be asked to give a massage. If you're a nail tech, you'll be required to do someone's nails. There's no bluffing your way through a job interview in the beauty industry you either have what it takes (and what a particular spa or salon is looking for), or you don't. Be prepared that if your interviewers offer feedback while you're doing your service, to incorporate their suggestions, which requires thinking on your feet. You’ll need to be able to show that you can tailor your services to the individual.
Stay positive- Some days may seem overwhelming; some days may even seem a little boring. Keep focused on your goal, make the most of each day and each learning opportunity and before long, you’ll be looking back at your school days wondering where the time went.

So take the most from your post secondary education and use it to create your future.

Cheers!

HAVE YOU STARTED CREATING YOUR 2014 GOALS?

Every Year I sit down on Jan 1st and map out my coming year. Yes friends I sit down at my computer and create my goals. I do this in a somewhat orderly fashion and break out my goals into quarters.
2014 Goal Worksheet©
This year was particularly difficult because I currently have many irons in the fire, as they say! Yet as my husband would say "you always have a lot of irons in the fire, now if only we could get you to focus on just one, we would be very wealthy."
Well he is probably right but I just can't help myself. I enjoy living my life to the fullest and I love doing many things and my favorite of course is sharing knowledge with others. So today I'm going to share my goals as well as my goal worksheet.

In 2014 I have 3 specific areas of goals I have to map out.

1. Women in Gear
  • What projects can I create that will have benefits to assist others this year?
  • What marketing and outreach will I do to share my workshops with others?
  • What steps will I take to spend more time creating a better blog?
  • What tradeshows will I attend I reach out to a biggest audience?
2. Younique Products Direct Sales Presenter
  • How will I share my company products this year?
  • What steps will I take to deliver better customer service?
  • How can I show more customers the benefits of becoming a presenter?
  • What marketing avenues will I take to create a better business?
3. Instructor & Operations Coordinator Esthetic Institute
  • How can I improve my teaching skills?
  • How can I deliver a better product to the company I contract with?
  • How can I manage my time better to give EI a the best of me?
  • What can I do to assist the EI team to become the best Institute in the country?
Friends these are the type of
questions you ask yourself as you begin the process of creating your Goal Worksheet. It is about how you take yourself from where you are today to a step ahead tomorrow.
Goals are just the pathway into planning your best year yet.

Cheers!

27 Questions to ask yourself & find your Dream Job in 2014

Featured in idealcareers.org this great article was one I just had to share with my fans and friends.

Scott Dismore at Live Your Legend has put together a list: 27 questions to help you figure out your passion.
Here are a few of the great questions to ask yourself:
  • What are you ridiculously good at? What are your precious gifts?
  • When was the last time you massively over delivered on something? What was it and why did you work so damn hard?
  • When was the last time you were in a state of flow, in the zone and totally lost track of time? What were you doing?
  • What topics do you find yourself continuously arguing or defending with others? What beliefs does your stance represent?
  • Out of all your current work roles, what would you gladly do for free?
  • What do your friends always tell you you’d be good at, that you should do for a living (i.e. “he’d make a great…)? If you don’t remember, then go ask five of them.
  • What careers do you find yourself dreaming of? What jobs do others have that you wish were yours?
  • What 3-5 dream jobs or businesses can you imagine that would firmly embody your core beliefs about the world. Sky’s the limit.

Of course, finding your passion isn’t just a one-time activity it is a constant flow of ideas and a working document. As our lives move forward so do our ideas and passions.

You can read all of the questions by downloading the guide here.

Cheers to 2014!

Can you help your Daughter fulfill her career dreams?

If she can dream it, she can become it. So can you really help your Daughter fulfill her career dreams? And if you could where would you start, if you knew how to start what tools and resources would you need to provide to her in order to give her good guidance?

Let me begin by saying this “yes you can help her fulfill her career dream” you only have to see the dream with her and believe it’s possible just as she does.
More often than not we are at a loss when our daughters approach us with their desires for the future. We make small claims when our children are toddlers that they can be anything they want to be when they grow up but then when they reach a more mature age we tend to change direction and try to guide them to what we consider more suitable career choices. We steer them towards college and tell them to make choices not on dreams or desires but based on salary trends or current predictions in the job market. The truth is we tend to leave the career development in the hands of school counselors or career counselors who are more often than not complete strangers to our children. This is because we have confidence that others are better trained to guide our children on a career choice, this could not be farther from the truth.

No one, let me repeat, no one is better trained to give guidance about your daughters future than you are. You are the one who watched her play in the sandbox with a dump truck for hours in the driveway, you are the one who observed her playing nurse on the dolls she loved and cherished, you are the one who knows her talents and the skills she possesses and you, and only you, know how she uses her instinct. So do not settle for others doing the guidance for you when of course you can help your Daughter fulfill her career dreams; all you need is the capacity to share her dream and the desire to see the possibilities. Many women enter careers that they later learn are not suited to their personalities or their abilities. The fact is far too many young women enter college with only a vague idea about their career choices or about themselves and the types of careers available that might match their interests. We have not helped them focus on their dreams and the art of the possible until it is too late and they no longer see the dreams they had as young girls.

The desire to see infinite possibilities is the key and it is significant in leading your Daughter down the path to her dreams and into the career of her choice. The objective is not to help your Daughter prepare for a career but help her prepare for the right career.
Social thinkers have always believed that being a strong support is the key to helping others fulfill their goals. You got it! Dreams are nothing more than a series of steps heading to an end result that we can equate to goal driven outcomes. So I say this "see her vision, share her vision and become an investor in her vision, the result will be extraordinary."
Below is a quip from the AT&T Parent Project.

AT&T Parent Project
Career Development Course
Step One: TEACH YOUR CHILD TO DREAM.
The first step of career development is dreaming. Children should dream about what they want to be and do as adults. They may want to be a detective, doctor, or secret agent. It doesn’t matter what these dreams are; they are all important. As parents, we need to know about these dreams and encourage our children to hold onto them. Dreams are children’s guiding stars. We must get our children to dream high, not low! This step will show you how to get your child not to settle for the bronze, but rather to go for the gold!
Step Two: AWAKEN YOUR CHILD’S INTERESTS.
Career satisfaction is not always determined by how much money you make. To be truly happy in a career, you must like what you do. This step will help you awaken and identify your child’s interests and connect them to appropriate careers. Many times we dream about things that would not really make us happy! Your child’s interests can bring his dreams down to earth.
Step Three: ASSESS YOUR CHILD’S PERSONALITY.
This step links you to several fun personality tests that your child will enjoy taking. These are really not “tests” since there are no right or wrong answers. But they will enable him to discover his attitudes about the world, people, and work. Your child’s personality can serve as a lens by which to explore the world of careers.

Defining Success Personally, Professionally and in Your Business

Defining success can be a challenge even for the most goal oriented individuals out there. Women have an even greater degree of difficulty defining successes in their lives. How do we see our personal successes? Do we only see the goal as a success if we meet the goal? Do we only think of it as a success if we let others define our professional successes based on what they believe is a success? Do we believe that even small accomplishments have an impact on our overall success factor?
As most of you know my husband is without a doubt a success machine. He makes the most accomplished of achievers look less than accomplished. In his personal life he sets the bar high to achieve his  Personal successes, he has just completed his 67th Marathon, he is gearing up to run #68 and he has run close to 75,000 miles in his lifetime. His Personal successes are easy to spot he usually comes home wearing a medal. OK! He always comes home wearing a medal.
His Professional successes are clearly marked on his resume of listed accomplishments, by the many awards he has received in his life and he has risen on the ladder to the top in his career.
As a Business person he speaks frequently at many venues and is a pioneer in his field of study. See I told you he was a success machine but can he without reservation clearly define those accolades that don’t get your name on a marque or an award at an event. Can he clearly see the line of demarcation where there isn’t a trophy waiting at the finish?
The rest of us stand in the world where we have to define the lines of completion and success. Knowing when we have completed a job well done and having the ability to see the success even when the finish line is invisible.
Sometimes success is defined in terms of making progress toward a specific goal but often success is simply the repeated, periodic achievement of some level of our current personal, professional or business goals. Having defined indicators in our lives can help us understand and reach higher to achieve the goals we clearly would determine as successful completion.
·         See Your Goal

·         Understand Any Obstacles

·         Create A Positive Future Plan

·         Clear Away Doubt

·         Embrace The Challenges

·         Share Your Knowledge

·         Stay The Course

You are the only one who can set your goals to define your level of Success.

Cheers

12 Steps to a Successful Business & Marketing Plan

Creating a Business Plan is essential to your business success. Your Business Plan should be the guidebook you utilize throughout the life of your business, it should also be a working document that can be changed as your business grows and expands. Did you know that if you write it down, you are seven times more likely to complete your plan than if you didn't write it down?

Prepare a Marketing Plan, it is key to the outcome of your future success and updating it every year should be one of your main priorities.
Are you working your Business or just working in your Business?

 LET’S GET STARTED…
1.      Write all your goals on a notepad using a time frame as your compass and then write them on a calendar, find a large desk calendar. Specific dates provide a baseline for your goals.
Use SMART Goals:
  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Relevant
  • Time Bound
2.       Find an easy to use Business Plan Template: You can find them all over the internet but I prefer the simplicity of SCORE.org Business Plan for a Startup Business. This Business Plan template is a generic model suitable for almost any business, you will just need to modify it to suit your business needs.
3.      Write all of your Marketing Plan ideas down then chose the avenues that best suit your needs and your budget. Figure out what your yearly Marketing budget will be and the stick to your budget and be very specific with your advertising partners, make them work together as a team; use them to help you create your brand. Always bargain for their services, any good advertising venue will have a wide variety of offers to suit almost any budget. Make a list of Advertising venues you will advertise in:
Traditional Advertising
  •   Yellow pages
  • Newspaper
  • Magazines (write articles and submit for publishing)
  •  TV
  • Radio
  • Mass Mailings
Social Media Advertising
  • Website
  • Facebook
  • Online E-Mailing
  • Blogging(you are the expert so share your knowledge)
  • Pinterest
  • Instagram
4.      Find your brand, or at least begin to explore your brand, this is an extension of you and it is very important to your success. Be very specific, think about one or two areas of expertise that you do best and then hone those skills or products and use them to become your brand. Remember too many options begin to cloud the waters and are harder to promote.
5.      Consider your Business name and logo. Logo, Name and Brand will go hand-in-hand. They are one and the same and need to have a great feel and flow.
6.      Join or attend organizations where you get exposure and can become a guest speaker where you get exposure and can provide valuable content. Provide information that is relevant, you are the expert so share one or two items of your business expertise.
·         Hold a monthly seminar or class
·         Have a class on specific topics giving tips and ideas
·         Invite guest speakers to share their expertise
·         Have a contest for the best (whatever) and then use the winner as a new service or product or idea in your shop. Name that product or service after the contest winner. The winner and her friends and family will be customers for life.  They will also make referrals forever.
7.      Be proactive and always get email addresses and business cards, then get them into a spreadsheet or a directory. This is the beginning of your marketing plan and the one area that costs nothing to create but usually has the most success. Set aside a couple hours per week to sit down and think about or discuss your upcoming marketing and business plan. Find a marketing guru to help you get started and use them as your sounding board.
8.      Create a networking group. Find people who believe in you and your product and let others help you build your business.
Network, Network, Network.
9.      Use your calendar to prepare for the seasonal selling. You know the market better than everyone else, so be prepared for it and start marketing it well in advance of the season. Be prepared so that you are ahead of the game and not behind.
10.    Create a Marketing Partnership. Example:  Maybe a local wine bar has a monthly wine tasting event. Offer to make the Chocolate covered strawberries and serve them with your business logo attached in some form. People are foodies and they love to see elegant items surrounding their favorite past time. Whatever you do always have your name and logo attached or displayed.
11.   Social Media Matters: I assume you do some form of social media but you need to embrace it and make it a part of your everyday life for at least 10 minutes per day. This is a tool to market your weekly special or your new idea or just post one picture per day of the beautiful cake you created for a wedding or an event. People remember what they see.
·         Facebook (5 Valuable Facebook Marketing Tips)
·         Linkedin
·         Twitter
·         Blogging
·         Email
·         Pinterest
·         Instagram
12.  Create a Loyalty Program: Never forget about your past and current customers. Discounts are a great bonus for loyal customers and people feel special when they get a certificate or a free items or treatment that comes in the mail or email specifically addressed to them.

Doing a business and marketing plan requires time and effort, but your success and your future depend on you taking the time to create your own success. Time is just relative when you work to be the best in your business.
Cheers!

5 Valuable Facebook Marketing Tips

Using Facebook and social media is critical in today’s Business Marketing Plans. Whether you are a fan of Facebook or not it is here to stay and I would assume many more Social Media Sites are in the works even as I write this article.
Here are a few of my tried and true tips for Business Page Marketing success on Facebook

1.    Daily action on your Facebook page is essential to get the ball rolling on your Small Business Page. Even if you only have a few followers on your page, get in the daily routine of posting and once you start it becomes a habit to just click on your Facebook Business Page and spend a few useful minutes marketing yourself and your business. Studies say the peak time to post is 11am and on weekend mornings.
2.    People love valuable information. So my best tip is to give them tips, share your knowledge. Even if you just guide someone in the best DIY approach to a problem. You are the expert and they are looking to you. So when they are getting ready to tackle something a bit bigger, your company will be top of mind consideration. Examples for DIY tips would be:
(The best techniques for a project)
(Best over the counter products)
(How to build a DIY anything)
3.    We’ve all heard the saying; a picture is worth a thousand words, right? On Facebook, a picture is worth much more than that!  Images are the #1 driver of engagement on a Page. Use pictures that help describe your Brand.  Use photos of real life situations, showing your best results, or of you and the gang in action. Also try using stock photos! A good source of inexpensive stock photos is this site: http://depositphotos.com the images on this site are great and not too costly.
4.     Use your tab apps. 40% of Facebook Page fans say they “Like” a Business on Facebook in order to get promotions and discounts. Don’t use Facebook as a selling tool use it as a promotion tool!
5.    Posting techniques are easy to use and useful for your page. Pin posts you want people to see longer than a day. Pinning a post will allow you to keep your more important message at the top of your Facebook page. Highlighting posts give you the opportunity to make certain Pictures, DIY Projects or Promotions stand out.  To promote posts that need to reach more people, use Facebook’s Promote Post Ad tool this gives your businesses the opportunity to reach a much larger audience and may provide you with a larger fan base.
Good Luck with your new Business Page.
Cheers,
Toni
